As Labour Day approaches, the City of Regina has announced its holiday schedule for Monday, September 2. Here’s what residents need to know about city services and facilities:
Civic Offices: All civic offices will be closed for the holiday.
Landfill: The landfill will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with entry gates closing at 6:45 p.m. However, the leaf and yard waste site will be closed for the day.
Waste Collection: Regular garbage, recycling, food, and yard waste collection will continue as scheduled. Residents should follow their usual collection routines.
Regina Transit: Transit services will operate on Sunday routes and schedules. The Information Centre and RIDELine will be closed. Paratransit service will be available from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cemeteries: The offices for Riverside Memorial Park and Regina Cemeteries will be closed, but the gates will remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Leisure Centres:
- North West Leisure Centre: Open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre: Open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sportplex - Fieldhouse: Open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Lawson Aquatic Centre: Closed for annual maintenance.
Outdoor Pools:
- Regent Pool: Closed for the annual dog swim event.
- Maple Leaf Pool, Buffalo Meadows Pool, and Massey Pool: These pools will close for the season at 5 p.m.
- Wascana Pool: Will operate with regular hours.
Parking Meters: Parking meters will not be in effect on Labour Day, providing free parking for the day.
