Great news for Saskatchewan students pursuing post-secondary education this fall! The 2024-25 Saskatchewan Student Aid applications are now available.

This year marks a milestone for the program, celebrating 75 years of supporting students in achieving their educational goals. Over $2.2 billion in financial assistance has been provided to students since the Student Aid Fund's inception.

"The Saskatchewan Student Aid Fund is instrumental in making post-secondary education more accessible," says Advanced Education Minister Colleen Young. "The Saskatchewan government remains committed to investing in student financial aid, empowering them to complete their studies and build rewarding careers in our province."

The 2024-25 budget allocates over $46 million for student loans, grants, and scholarships. This is expected to benefit more than 22,000 students through a combination of non-repayable and repayable financial aid.

Further expanding access to student support, the Saskatchewan Student Grant for Students with Dependents is a new initiative funded with $4.2 million. This grant provides eligible full-time students with up to $950 per dependent annually, supporting those with children under 12 or over 12 with a permanent disability.

"As a student with dependents, these financial aid options are a huge relief," shares Maria Sadikov, a Saskatchewan Polytechnic Registered Nursing student. "The support allows me to focus on my studies and my family while pursuing my goal of becoming a nurse and giving back to the community."

Saskatchewan students applying for student aid will be automatically assessed for the new grant.
