The city's water meter upgrade project is chugging along, with over 44,000 meters installed so far. That means more than half of Regina homes and businesses now have spiffy new water meters.

If you live in Ward 8, keep an eye out for a mail coming your way soon. It will have all the information you need to schedule an appointment for your own meter upgrade. The friendly folks from Neptune Technology Group, the city's contractor, will be making the installations. The whole process usually takes between 30 to 90 minutes, and a technician will be sure to chat with you about the work plan beforehand.

But the benefits of this project go beyond just shiny new gadgets. The new meters will allow the city to collect more frequent data on water use. This translates to good news for you too! Soon, you'll have a new online system where you can see exactly how much water your household uses. This can help you identify areas where you might be able to conserve water and save some money on your bills. Plus, you can sign up for email alerts about planned water outages and high water usage, so you'll always be in the loop.
